In the incident that took place in the Karnataka assembly following the triumph of a Congress candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections, three individuals were apprehended on Monday. These individuals have been identified as Ilthaz hailing from Delhi, Munavar residing in RT Nagar, Bengaluru, and Mohammad Shafi from Byadagi in Haveri.
The occurrence of pro-Pakistan slogans was observed within the premises of Vidhana Soudha during the celebratory proceedings of Congress leader Syed Naseer Hussain's victory in the Rajya Sabha polls on February 27. Despite the assertions made by the Congress party, contending that their supporters were merely expressing their jubilation for Hussain by chanting 'Nasir saab zindabad', investigations were set in motion by the Siddaramaiah-led administration. This administration commissioned a forensic examination conducted by a government-run forensic science laboratory to verify the validity of the accusations.
Following this, the forensic report authenticated the integrity of the video footage capturing the event, affirming the veracity of the raised pro-Pakistan slogans within the assembly. However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) referenced a report from a private forensic science laboratory, alleging the utterance of "Pakistan zindabad" slogans in the Vidhana Soudha. This private forensic report underscored the video's unaltered state, highlighting its singular capture.
Nonetheless, the Congress party rebuffed the findings of the private forensic report, highlighting their skepticism towards privately generated reports. Karnataka's Home Minister, G Parameshwara, voiced inquiries regarding the legitimacy of the private report, questioning the credentials of the individual responsible for its compilation. He emphasized the need to ascertain the authorization and accreditation of the laboratory associated with the private report, stressing the necessity for transparency in such matters.
