A man from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, identified as Ram Lakhan, was arrested on Sunday for the alleged murder of his 25-year-old wife and two minor children, aged six and three. The accused reportedly strangled his wife and then killed his two children while they were sleeping. Ram Lakhan, a resident of Sarwan Nagar in Lucknow, confessed during police interrogation that he suspected his wife of having an extramarital affair, which led him to commit the gruesome act.
After committing the murders, Ram Lakhan stuffed the bodies of his wife and children into a sack and kept them inside the house for two days. He claimed that having their dead bodies at home gave him solace, as his family was sleeping next to him.
The heinous crime came to light when neighbors noticed a foul stench emanating from Ram Lakhan's house and alerted the police. Upon investigation, law enforcement officers broke down the locked door and discovered the three bodies wrapped in a sack inside the residence.
Subsequently, Ram Lakhan was apprehended in Sohramau after the police traced his location using his phone number. The accused now faces charges related to the murder of his wife and children, and further legal proceedings will follow.
