Lakshadweep is the site of a medical evacuation by Navy Dornier aircraft

The Indian Navy swiftly responded to an urgent plea from the Lakshadweep administration by evacuating a critically ill patient from Agatti Island to Kochi for life-saving medical treatment. The Southern Naval Command promptly deployed a Dornier aircraft from INS Garuda in Kochi to airlift the patient, who required factor transfusion.

The naval Dornier dispatched to Agatti Island, covered approximately 250 nautical miles to reach the remote location. The patient was airlifted and transported to a civilian hospital in Kochi, where they received further medical attention. The successful evacuation underscores the Navy's operational readiness and commitment to crisis response and humanitarian assistance.
