Leaders of the INDIA bloc poke fun at the BJP during the Congress big rally in Shivaji Park, Mumbai

The mega rally held at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, marking the conclusion of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, witnessed the participation of numerous leaders from the INDIA bloc who collectively launched scathing attacks against the BJP.

Led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the rally served as a platform to denounce Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government. Gandhi asserted that Modi's electoral success relies heavily on institutions like EVMs, ED, CBI, and Income Tax, insinuating the manipulation of power rather than genuine public support. He characterized Modi as a symbolic "mask" of authority lacking in substance, contrasting his rhetoric with tangible governance achievements.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge echoed Gandhi's sentiments, accusing Modi of favoring the affluent while neglecting the welfare of ordinary citizens. Kharge cautioned against the reintegration of defectors from opposition parties into the INDIA bloc, emphasizing the need for strategic voting to prevent the consolidation of power under the BJP.

Notable leaders such as Sharad Pawar, MK Stalin, and Uddhav Thackeray contributed to the chorus of criticism, highlighting issues of corruption, democratic erosion, and communal polarization under BJP rule. Pawar invoked Mahatma Gandhi's legacy, urging for a collective effort to remove the BJP from power and uphold democratic values.

Stalin condemned the BJP's electoral bond scheme as a form of "white-collar corruption," vowing to establish a secular, federal, and inclusive government at the Centre through the INDIA bloc's collective strength.

Uddhav Thackeray, representing Shiv Sena (UBT), decried the BJP's authoritarian tendencies, urging citizens to safeguard the Constitution and resist attempts to concentrate power in one individual. Thackeray's remarks underscored the erosion of democratic norms and the BJP's perceived threat to constitutional integrity.

Tejashwi Yadav echoed Rahul Gandhi's sentiment, emphasizing the ideological struggle against hate rather than personal animosity towards Modi and Amit Shah. Mehbooba Mufti accused the BJP of fearing the Gandhis, emphasizing the BJP's purported desire to amass over 400 seats in Parliament to subvert constitutional norms.

The presence of leaders like Kalpana Soren and Prakash Ambedkar underscored the broad coalition against the BJP, signaling a united front to challenge the incumbent government's policies and practices.
