Administrator Praful Khoda Patel, the chief guest at the ceremony, emphasized the strategic significance of Lakshadweep and outlined forthcoming developments, including the approval for an airstrip at Minicoy and the establishment of a radar base for the Indian Air Force. He also highlighted plans for the operationalization of a 24-hour chopper hangar at Kavaratti, further enhancing the region's logistical capabilities.
Vice Admiral V Srinivas and Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh, chiefs of the Southern and Western Naval Commands respectively, participated in the event, reaffirming the Navy's commitment to strengthening its presence in the region.
