National Security Advisor Ajit Doval praised the late General Bipin Rawat, former chief of defense staff, highlighting his decisiveness and clarity of thought. Speaking at the Bipin Rawat Memorial Lecture on the occasion of Rawat's birth anniversary, Doval emphasized Rawat's significant contribution to the nation and stressed the importance of keeping his memory alive, citing his role in bolstering national resolve.
Doval also mentioned the launch of the GBR Memorial Foundation of India and suggested collaboration with psychologists to explore decision-making processes. He discussed the nature of wars, stating they are about breaking the enemy's will and achieving peace on favorable terms.
Reflecting on his visit to Israel, Doval shared insights from discussions with Israeli officials, who advised India to be prepared for surprises amid conflicts. He underscored the need for a mindset geared towards handling unexpected situations.
Additionally, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan emphasized the importance of fostering a joint culture among the Army, Navy, and Air Force to facilitate seamless operations. Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria remembered General Rawat as a strategic thinker who worked towards restructuring and integrating the armed forces, expressing sorrow over his passing.
