Plan for AAP's campaign to highlight accomplishments and the BJP's decision to remove sitting MPs

In the wake of announcing its candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has commenced the formulation of strategies for its campaign, with a particular focus on various issues, notably spotlighting the BJP’s decision to omit incumbent MPs.

This initiative follows a recent meeting between AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the four-party candidates to deliberate on the forthcoming election campaign.

Furthermore, AAP and Congress have forged a pre-poll pact in Delhi, with each party nominating candidates for four constituencies.

The AAP's blueprint for the Lok Sabha elections entails launching door-to-door campaigns across the national capital to secure votes promptly. The party aims to underscore the accomplishments of the Kejriwal government over the past decade, hopeful that this track record will translate into electoral success. Additionally, AAP intends to draw attention to the BJP's decision to exclude incumbent MPs, interpreting it as a tacit admission of their impending electoral defeat. Emphasizing the necessity of AAP's representation in the Lok Sabha for the effective governance of Delhi, the party will stress the importance of ensuring that the benefits accrued to the people of Delhi persist. Given that the Delhi Police falls under the purview of the central government, AAP plans to raise concerns about the escalating crime rates in the capital.

In preparation for the elections, AAP organized a training session for its candidates—Mahabal Mishra, Somnath Bharti, Kuldeep Kumar, and Sahiram Pehalwan—who will be contesting for the New Delhi, East Delhi, West Delhi, and South Delhi Lok Sabha seats, respectively.

Addressing the training session, AAP national general secretary Sandeep Pathak underscored the imperative of securing victory in the polls "at any cost," citing legal challenges against party leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh.

AAP is optimistic about its prospects, especially since the Opposition INDIA bloc is pitted against the BJP in a direct contest, unlike the scenario in the 2019 elections.

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal had expressed hopes of bolstering his party's position by sweeping all the Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, likening it to the strengthened positions of regional parties in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. However, Kejriwal has yet to clarify whether AAP and Congress will collaborate on their campaign efforts.
