PM of Cambodia forbids musical car horns to prevent road dancing

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has issued a directive banning the use of musical horns on vehicles following the circulation of videos on social media showing people dancing on roadsides as trucks passed by playing rhythmic tunes.

Taking to Facebook on Monday, Hun Manet announced the ban and instructed the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation and law enforcement agencies to take immediate action against vehicles equipped with musical horns. He emphasized the need to replace these horns with standard ones to ensure road safety and public order.

The Prime Minister expressed concern over the inappropriate behavior observed in the videos, particularly involving youths and children dancing on the roadside to the sounds emitted by trucks' musical horns. He highlighted the dangers posed by such activities, both to the dancers themselves and to overall traffic safety.

By implementing this ban, Hun Manet aims to address the potential risks associated with dancing in the streets and to prevent any disruptions to public order caused by the use of musical horns on vehicles.
