Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra which recommenced from Sarangpur, Madhya Pradesh today, took aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, lambasting him for the prevailing unemployment crisis in the nation, suggesting that the Prime Minister's vision entails citizens incessantly chanting "Jai Shri Ram" while suffering from hunger.
Upon his arrival, Rahul Gandhi was greeted with chants of "Modi, Modi" and "Jai Shree Ram" by BJP supporters, who also humorously presented him with potatoes and requested gold in exchange.
While appreciating the slogans raised by BJP enthusiasts, Rahul Gandhi took the opportunity to condemn the Prime Minister's approach to addressing unemployment, highlighting the plight of young individuals who, he claimed, spend their days passively scrolling through social media.
In a scathing remark, he remarked, "The Prime Minister's vision seems to entail citizens engrossed in their smartphones, chanting religious slogans, only to ultimately succumb to hunger."
Turning his attention to the Agniveer scheme initiated by the BJP-led Central government, the Congress MP critiqued its provisions, asserting that while the armed forces previously offered guarantees of pension and respect to the youth, the new scheme allegedly fails to uphold these assurances, instead favoring specific demographics.
Highlighting the severity of the unemployment crisis, Rahul Gandhi cited statistics purportedly suggesting that India's unemployment rate is twice that of Pakistan, standing at 23 percent compared to 12 percent in the neighboring country. He further claimed that India's unemployment rate surpasses that of Bangladesh and Bhutan, reaching its highest point in four decades.
