Prime suspect in the Agra leak of the Uttar Pradesh board exam paper is detained

The Agra Police has successfully apprehended Vinay Chaudhary, who stands as the primary suspect in the unauthorized dissemination of question papers of the Uttar Pradesh board intermediate examination through social media platforms. Chaudhary's endeavor to abscond to Rajasthan was intercepted by law enforcement authorities, leading to his subsequent detention. Presently, he remains under interrogation.

Allegedly, question papers for the mathematics and biology examinations of the Uttar Pradesh class 12 board surfaced on a WhatsApp group based in Agra, merely an hour after the commencement of the examinations on Thursday.

In a concerted effort to unravel the intricacies of the case, law enforcement officials escorted Vinay Chaudhary to Atar Singh Inter College, where an extensive retrieval of computer-related evidence is currently underway. Investigations have revealed that the dissemination of intermediate biology and mathematics question papers via social media platforms was not an inadvertent occurrence but rather a meticulously orchestrated effort aimed at compromising the sanctity of the examination process.

In light of these revelations, Rajendra Singh, the center administrator, strategically positioned his son, Vinay Chaudhary, as a computer operator within the examination setup. Consequently, both Rajendra Singh and additional center administrator Gambhir Singh were apprehended on Friday, given their pivotal roles in ensuring the smooth conduct of the ensuing board examinations at the center.

In compliance with governmental directives, Mukesh Chandra Aggarwal, the Board Observer, convened a crucial meeting with center administrators hailing from unaided schools at PMShri Government Inter College in Shahganj. During this gathering, Aggarwal issued stern warnings against any attempts to tamper with the examination process, delineating the grave repercussions awaiting those found complicit. To reinforce the integrity of the examination process, a revised set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) has been disseminated to center administrators, underscoring the imperative need for stringent adherence to established protocols.

Aggarwal emphasized the enforcement of stringent measures, including a three-tiered question paper security system, with provisions in place to address any manpower shortages.

Efforts are currently underway to revoke the recognition of Atar Singh Inter College, situated in Rojholi, Fatehpur Sikri, following recommendations from departmental officials. This decision was reached during a board meeting presided over by Board Secretary Divyakant Shukla, who underscored the board's unwavering commitment to upholding question paper confidentiality. Moreover, Shukla reiterated that any institution found culpable of breaching question paper confidentiality in the future would face immediate recognition termination.

To oversee the remaining examinations, Rajkumar Saraswat, Principal of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Government Inter College has been appointed as the center administrator, with Bhagwat Sharan, spokesperson for Bajaj National Inter College, Fatehpur Sikri, serving in the capacity of additional center administrator.

According to sources within the Agra police department, a mere hour after the commencement of the second shift examination on Thursday, question papers for the Biology and Mathematics subjects had been disseminated widely across various WhatsApp groups. Vinay Chaudhary, serving as a computer operator at Atar Singh Inter College in Rojauli, Fatehpur Sikri, was identified as the primary perpetrator behind the leak. His actions precipitated the expeditious arrest of Rajendra Singh, Chaudhary's father and the center administrator, on Thursday, followed by the subsequent apprehension of additional center administrator Gambhir Singh on Friday. The police are actively probing the origins of the leaked question papers.

Atar Singh Inter College, previously embroiled in cheating scandals, had been excluded as an examination center during last year's board examinations. Despite being classified as a hypersensitive center, the administration failed to implement adequate security measures.
