Revanth Reddy and former Telangana minister KT Rama Rao argue over a phone tapping incident

A heated exchange unfolded between Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLA KT Rama Rao and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding allegations of phone tapping in the state.

During a party meeting, KTR downplayed the allegations, suggesting that if any tapping occurred, it might have been targeted at a few troublemakers or criminals. He dismissed Congress' claims as exaggerated drama aimed at diverting attention from unfulfilled promises by the Congress party.

In response, Revanth Reddy accused KTR of shamelessly admitting to phone-tapping activity and demanded accountability. He alleged that the BRS government had tapped phones and filed cases against individuals who voted against them, warning KTR of potential consequences.

The BJP's Hyderabad Candidate Madhavi Latha raised suspicions of the AIMIM's involvement in the phone tapping, citing their alliance with BRS. She called for a probe into AIMIM's role in the matter.

Telangana Cabinet Minister Komitreddy Venkat Reddy, in an exclusive conversation with India Today, indicated that the issue would be discussed in the next cabinet meeting. He further urged the High Court to take suo moto action against KTR and others allegedly involved in the phone tapping controversy.
