Sixth list of candidates for Lok Sabha elections released by the Congress

On Monday, the Congress party unveiled its sixth roster of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, featuring contenders for seats in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. The list introduces four nominees for positions in Rajasthan and one for Tamil Nadu.

Among the candidates listed are Ramchandra Choudhary for the Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency, Sudarshan Rawat for Rajsamand, and Dr. Damodar Gurjar for Bhilwara in Rajasthan. Additionally, Prahlad Gunjal has been nominated for the Kota seat, while C Robert Bruce has been selected for Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli constituency.

Of note, Gunjal, a former BJP member who recently aligned with the Congress on March 21, will be challenging BJP's Om Birla.

This release follows closely after the party's fifth list, which included replacements such as Pratap Singh Khachariyawas for Sunil Sharma in the Jaipur Lok Sabha race, following controversy surrounding Sharma's candidacy. The BJP has yet to announce its candidate for the Jaipur constituency.

In Rajasthan, the Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to occur in two phases, on April 19 and April 26.

With this latest announcement, the Congress has disclosed 190 candidates thus far, while the BJP has named 330 candidates.
