Smriti Irani challenges Rahul Gandhi to discuss the UPA and NDA's ten-year rule

Union Minister Smriti Irani issued a bold challenge to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi during an address at the 'Namo Yuva Mahasammelan' event in Nagpur on Monday, proposing a debate to juxtapose the respective tenures of the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) and the Congress-led UPA (United Progressive Alliance). Asserting Rahul Gandhi's prerogative to select the platform for this discourse, Irani stipulated that the BJP would nominate a party representative to engage in the debate.

In a spirited call to action, Irani implored Rahul Gandhi to heed her words, stating, "If my message reaches Rahul Gandhi, let him listen attentively. We welcome a debate to determine which administration's decade-long tenure fared better. You choose the battlefield, and we shall appoint a spokesperson from the BJP to present our case."

She expressed her conviction that Rahul Gandhi would falter in the face of articulate arguments from a Yuva Morcha member. "I can guarantee that even an ordinary Yuva Morcha worker if allowed to speak before Rahul Gandhi, would render him speechless," she emphasized.

Highlighting the BJP-led NDA government's accomplishments, Irani commended its implementation of welfare initiatives such as financial inclusion through bank accounts for the underprivileged, household sanitation projects, distribution of free rations to 80 crore citizens, and the enforcement of a 33 percent reservation quota for women.

Additionally, Irani underscored the competence of any Yuva Morcha member to outshine Rahul Gandhi in a debate, further denouncing his absence during the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol as indicative of persistent arrogance and unyielding ego within the Congress ranks.
