Son of an Andhra cop found cheating in the preliminary exam

Siva Shankar, the son of a circle inspector in Andhra Pradesh's Ongole, has been accused of attempting to cheat during a prelims examination for Group 1 posts conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) on Sunday, March 17. Allegedly, he brought his iPhone into the examination hall and used it to scan the question paper.

Another candidate noticed this suspicious behavior and alerted the authorities. Despite their efforts to intervene, Siva reportedly refused to disclose his phone's password, preventing the authorities from accessing any information stored on the device.

Following this incident, Siva Shankar has been booked for malpractice, according to Ongole Deputy Superintendent of Police, M Kishore Babu. The case underscores the severity of the offense, as cheating in competitive examinations can have serious consequences.

It is unclear how Siva managed to bring his phone into the examination hall, as such venues typically have security measures in place, including the use of metal detectors and other checks to prevent electronic devices from being smuggled in.
