Student from Hyderabad goes missing in the US for two weeks; family calls for ransom

Abdul Mohammed, a 25-year-old student from Hyderabad studying in the United States, has been reported missing since March 7. His family in India received a ransom call from alleged kidnappers, indicating that Abdul had been abducted.

Abdul, who is pursuing a Master's degree in Information Technology (IT) at Cleveland University, was last seen on March 7. His father, Mohammed Saleem, received a phone call from an unknown number later that week, where the caller claimed to have kidnapped Abdul. The caller demanded a ransom of $1,200 for Abdul's safe return and threatened to sell Abdul's kidney if the ransom wasn't paid.

Following Abdul's disappearance, his relatives in the United States filed a missing person report with the Cleveland Police on March 8. A lookout notice has been issued for Abdul, and the Cleveland Police are currently investigating the case.

Abdul's family reached out to the Indian consulate in Chicago on March 18, seeking assistance in locating him.

Abdul's mother, Abeda, stated that she last spoke to her son on March 7, and there has been no contact from him since then. She appealed to the Indian government to intervene and ensure Abdul's safe return.

The case is currently under investigation, and efforts are being made to locate Abdul and ensure his safety.
