The Army describes a portable target detonation device patent as another milestone

The Indian Army has achieved a significant milestone with the granting of a patent for the "Portable Multi Target Detonation Device (WEDC)", enabling soldiers to conduct demolition operations at long range. Developed by Major Rajprasad RS of the Corps of Engineers, this innovation equips troops with enhanced safety and advanced features, marking its induction into the Indian Army.

According to the Indian Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI), the WEDC facilitates both wired and wireless detonation, as showcased in a video shared on X. The device, a microprocessor-based electronic system, offers a remarkable range of 2.5 km and allows for the firing at multiple targets individually or simultaneously. This development represents a significant advancement in the Army's capabilities for demolition operations.
