The BJP would pursue Lord Ram and invite him to join the party through agencies: Kejriwal

In a pointed remark aimed at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal suggested that even if Lord Ram were present in the contemporary era, the central government would resort to employing entities such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to coerce him into aligning with the saffron party or face incarceration.

Speaking during a session in the Delhi assembly, Kejriwal remarked, "I couldn't help but contemplate that if Lord Ram were among us today, the BJP would likely dispatch the ED and the CBI to his doorstep, brandishing weapons and presenting an ultimatum: 'Will you join the BJP or land in prison?'"

Kejriwal's observations come amidst an ongoing standoff between him and the Enforcement Directorate, as the Delhi Chief Minister continues to sidestep summons issued by the federal agency.

Furthermore, Kejriwal emphasized the contrasting approaches of his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP, asserting that while AAP strives to fortify governmental institutions, deliver vital services, and facilitate pilgrimages for the elderly, the BJP tends to obstruct the initiatives of opposition governments by wielding institutions like the ED and CBI.

During discussions regarding the budget, Kejriwal also took a moment to acknowledge former Finance Minister Manish Sisodia, who is presently incarcerated in connection with a liquor policy case, expressing optimism that Sisodia will helm the presentation of next year's budget.

Reacting to Kejriwal's statements, the BJP lambasted him for what they perceived as exploiting Lord Ram's name for political gain, citing potential offense to millions of devotees.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva criticized Kejriwal, asserting that his repeated invocation of Lord Ram's name for political motives is disrespectful to the sentiments of countless devotees.

Regarding Kejriwal's comments concerning Sisodia, Sachdeva accused the AAP leader of peddling "false hope" to the public.
