The manifesto of the INDIA bloc or the DMK? This was the reply from MK Stalin

Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK, a key constituent of the opposition INDIA bloc, unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, featuring promises such as scrapping the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and disbanding the NITI Aayog. When questioned about the manifesto's alignment with the INDIA bloc's agenda rather than solely representing the DMK's priorities, party chief MK Stalin responded that it predominantly aligns with the goals of the INDIA bloc.

Stalin emphasized that the DMK's alliance was confident of coming to power at the Centre, and therefore, the manifesto reflects the collective vision of the coalition. The manifesto includes promises like banning the NEET exam in Tamil Nadu, removing toll booths on national highways, and advocating for greater state autonomy in the appointment of Governors. Additionally, it pledges to abolish Article 356, which allows the Centre to dismiss a state government and promises statehood for Puducherry.

Alongside the manifesto release, the DMK announced its list of candidates for 21 seats in the Lok Sabha polls, retaining incumbent MPs such as Stalin's sister Kanimozhi, TR Baalu, and A Raja. Notable figures like former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran, S Jagathrakshakan, Kalanidhi Veerasamy, Kathir Anand, and CN Annadurai were also retained.

Furthermore, the DMK has allocated the remaining 18 seats in Tamil Nadu to its allies, including the Congress, Left parties, and VCK, among others, reflecting the coalition's unity and shared objectives.
