The PM's "Shakti Amma" campaign in Tamil Nadu is a jab at the INDIA bloc before the polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi intensified his criticism of the Opposition, particularly the INDIA bloc, during a rally in Salem, Tamil Nadu. He focused on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's recent "Shakti" remark, asserting that those who seek to undermine "Shakti" will face consequences.

PM Modi emphasized the significance of 'Shakti' in Hinduism, referring to it as the divine essence embodied in revered female deities like Kanchi Kamakshi Amman and Madurai Meenakshi Amman. He underscored that 'Shakti' symbolizes both spiritual and women's power.

Rahul Gandhi's comment on March 17, associating 'Shakti' with the soul of the state and critiquing the use of EVMs, sparked controversy. PM Modi countered this, affirming that every mother and daughter embodies 'Shakti' for him.

PM Modi accused the Congress and its ally DMK, part of the INDIA bloc, of aiming to undermine the essence of 'Shakti'. He cited instances where the INDIA bloc allegedly insulted the Hindu faith deliberately, contrasting it with their treatment of other religions.

Drawing from epics and Tamil literature, PM Modi highlighted the cultural and spiritual significance of 'Shakti' in Tamil beliefs. He referenced the works of Tamil poet Subramania Bharathi, who revered 'Shakti' as Mother India and celebrated women's empowerment.

Furthermore, PM Modi underscored the NDA government's efforts to empower women through initiatives like the Ujjwala scheme, aligning with the ethos of 'naari shakti' (women's power).
