Tomorrow, PM Modi will speak to a crowd at the YMCA ground in Chennai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a public gathering in Chennai on Monday, marking his fourth engagement in Tamil Nadu within a week.

Vinoj P Selvam, the president of Tamil Nadu BJP Yuva Morcha and a member of the organizing committee for the Prime Minister's event at YMCA Grounds in Nandanam, Chennai, highlighted that Modi will elucidate on the various schemes implemented by the Central government during his address.

Selvam also emphasized Modi's profound connection with the Tamil language, citing instances where the Prime Minister has eloquently recited verses from Thirukkurral, even during his international travels, showcasing his admiration for the language.

Responding to criticism from the DMK, which alleges that only 29 paise is returned to Tamil Nadu for every rupee paid as tax, Selvam dismissed it as an electoral tactic spurred by the controversy surrounding NEET. He pointed out that the amount of money returned from the Centre has remained consistent since the UPA government's tenure, and the DMK's objection is merely opportunistic.

Moreover, Selvam accused the DMK government of failing to effectively utilize various funds, resulting in their return to the Centre.

Regarding the friction between the AIADMK and BJP despite Modi's praise for Jayalalithaa and MGR, Selvam described it as minor differences of opinion between the two parties. He stressed that the paramount concern is the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu, underscoring the necessity of defeating the DMK, which he portrayed as the greater threat.

Selvam asserted that the BJP has significantly strengthened its presence in the state over the past four years and expressed confidence that even if the party were to contest independently, it would secure victory in all 39 Lok Sabha seats. He vowed to conduct the election campaign in a manner that aligns each candidate with Modi's vision.

Previously, Prime Minister Modi visited Palladam on February 27 and addressed a public gathering. Subsequently, on February 28, he inaugurated 36 schemes and laid the foundation stone for a second spaceport of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Kulasekaranpattinam during his visit to Thoothukudi.
