Trump claims he "purposely" uses Nancy Pelosi's and Nikki Haley's names incorrectly

Former US President Donald Trump admitted to deliberately mixing up the names of former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and his Republican counterpart Nikki Haley. However, he once again seemed to confuse President Joe Biden with former President Barack Obama.

Addressing a crowd in Richmond, Virginia on Saturday night, Trump acknowledged his intentional name mix-up, stating, "I purposely mix up a name, like Birdbrain, you know who Birdbrain is, right, Nikki, with Nancy Pelosi." He explained that he considers them interchangeable in his mind, although he jokingly remarked that Pelosi might be slightly smarter.

This isn't the first time Trump has made such a mistake. During a campaign rally in New Hampshire in January, he confused Haley with Pelosi while discussing the January 6 Capitol riots in 2021, mistakenly believing that Haley, who was in the private sector at the time, was responsible for Capitol security.

Haley, Trump's last remaining rival for the Republican presidential nomination, expressed concerns about having a President whose mental fitness might be questionable under the pressures of the presidency.

Trump's remarks came during the Richmond rally following his easy victory in the Republican caucuses held in Michigan, Idaho, and Missouri, where he surpassed Haley in all three states.

During his speech, Trump also explained that he intentionally referred to President Biden as "Obama" Trump to make a point, indicating his skepticism about Biden's leadership capabilities. However, he once again mixed up Obama and Biden during his address, suggesting that Russian President Vladimir Putin had little respect for Obama by throwing around the "nuclear" word.
