These villages, reminiscent of Chinese model settlements, are perceived as dual-use facilities serving both civilian and military purposes, reinforcing China's territorial claims along the LAC.
In response, India has bolstered its military presence in the region and embarked on infrastructure development projects to enhance logistical capabilities. The inauguration of the Sela tunnel, aimed at providing all-weather connectivity to Tawang, reflects India's commitment to strengthening its position in the area.
