Video: 2017 soldier-brother slain; commandos carry out woman's wedding ceremonies

The Garuda Unit commandos, renowned for their valor and dedication, participated in and meticulously conducted the ceremonial rites at the wedding ceremony of the sister of an esteemed Indian Air Force Commando in Bihar, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty back in 2017.

In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity and support, the Garuda Unit commandos ensured the seamless execution of the nuptial proceedings for the sister of Commando Jyoti Prakash Nirala, a recipient of the prestigious Ashok Chakra, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Jammu and Kashmir in 2017.

During the solemn occasion, these gallant commandos reverently draped a ceremonial shawl over the bride, Sunita Kumari, and tenderly upheld her as she walked towards the matrimonial dais, symbolizing their unwavering commitment to honor and protect the fallen soldier's family.

It is noteworthy that Sunita Kumari, herself a Sub Inspector in the Bihar Police force, entered into matrimony with Sub Inspector Rahul Kumar from Buxar, further strengthening the bonds within the law enforcement fraternity.

Notably, Commando Jyoti Prakash Nirala was the beloved brother of three sisters. During the marriage of his second sister in 2019, a contingent of 11 Garuda commandos graciously attended the ceremony, actively participating in the traditional rituals, thereby demonstrating their steadfast support and reverence for the fallen hero's family.
