Amidst a contentious dispute over the removal of flexi banners outside the residence of a local Congress leader, Dedeepya Rao, a Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) corporator in Hyderabad, found herself embroiled in a heated altercation resulting in physical assault by unidentified women.

The confrontation unfolded in the Vengal Rao Nagar area of Hyderabad on Tuesday evening when Rao, acting in her capacity within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, instructed the Disaster Response Force (DRF) to dismantle the flexi boards positioned outside the home of Congress leader Naveen Yadav.

Promptly, supporters of the Congress leader congregated at the scene, engaging in a verbal exchange with Rao. The situation further escalated as advocates for the corporator also converged, leading to a clash between the two factions.

During the tumult, as Rao attempted to depart in her vehicle, she faced physical aggression from several unidentified women.

The escalating fracas necessitated police intervention, resulting in the filing of a case against both groups involved in the altercation.

Detective Inspector R. Madhusudhan of Jubilee Hills, speaking to ANI News agency, confirmed the incident, stating, "This incident occurred last night. We have registered a case against the women who assaulted the corporator."

Presently, an ongoing investigation seeks to address the underlying causes of the conflict and bring about a resolution.
