Watch the PM erupt into laughter as Nitish Kumar promises not to transgress once more

During a public address in Bihar's Aurangabad, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a solemn pledge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, affirming his unwavering commitment to remain within the BJP-led NDA alliance, stating that he will refrain from any political vacillation. The Chief Minister's lighthearted self-deprecation, met with cheerful approval from PM Modi, underscored his earnestness.

Speaking directly to the Prime Minister, Kumar humorously reminisced about previous instances where he had seemingly disappeared when Modi visited but assured him of his steadfast loyalty henceforth. He reassured PM Modi, declaring, "I pledge to remain steadfast by your side and not waver in my allegiance."

This assurance comes in the wake of Kumar's party, JD(U), rejoining the NDA alliance just over a month ago, relinquishing its ties with the Mahagathbandhan coalition. Kumar, who has been serving as Bihar Chief Minister since 2000, took office for a record ninth term in January.

Additionally, Kumar acknowledged the occasional divergence between JD(U) and NDA interests over the years but highlighted their collective achievements despite these differences, emphasizing the collaborative efforts undertaken.

The gathering in Aurangabad coincided with PM Modi's visit to Bihar, during which he is slated to inaugurate development projects worth over Rs 34,800 crore. This marks PM Modi's first visit to Bihar following Nitish Kumar's reaffirmation of allegiance to the NDA fold. Seizing the opportunity, the Chief Minister reaffirmed his commitment to the alliance, pledging not to stray from its path in the future.
