Wedding brawl breaks out when the UP groom demands a Creta car; police step in

In the rural expanse of Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor, the tranquility of a matrimonial celebration was shattered by a tumultuous dispute that unfolded when the groom articulated his desire for a car as a dowry, precipitating a cascade of threats regarding the potential dissolution of the impending union should his request remain unmet.

What commenced as a harmonious procession from Saidpuri village swiftly devolved into pandemonium as the groom, seemingly out of the blue, insisted upon the acquisition of a Creta automobile from the bride's kin, punctuating his demand with ultimatums that reverberated through the gathering.
This unexpected solicitation left the bride's family grappling with the perplexity of its fulfillment, igniting a verbal altercation that quickly snowballed into a physical altercation, necessitating the intervention of local law enforcement to restore order and facilitate reconciliation.

Prompted by the unfolding turmoil, the authorities swiftly mobilized, arriving at the scene to de-escalate tensions and assume control of the volatile circumstances. After their intervention, a concord was brokered between the feuding factions, with terms dictating the restitution of all dowry paraphernalia tendered by the bride's family, coupled with the reimbursement of expenses totaling Rs 3.25 lakh, comprising outlays for sustenance and venue accommodations.
