When Vaibhav Gehlot left, the cricketing body's chief was his son, a minister from Rajasthan

Dhananjai Khimsar, son of Rajasthan Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar, assumed the presidency of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) on Saturday. This development occurred a little over 10 days after the resignation of Vaibhav Gehlot, son of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, from the same position.

Upon his resignation, Vaibhav Gehlot levied allegations against the new BJP administration in the state, asserting that the RCA was targeted with malicious intent. He further disclosed that he had received word about a potential no-confidence motion against him, yet no official or RCA member had voiced dissent on any matter.

Having been elected as the president of the state cricketing body in 2019 and subsequently re-elected in 2022, Vaibhav Gehlot's departure paved the way for Dhananjay Singh Khimsar to assume leadership. Khimsar previously held the position of chief at the Nagaur District Cricket Association.

Expressing his sentiments upon assuming office, Dhananjay Singh Khimsar stated, "We are committed to working collectively towards ushering in a new era of cricket in Rajasthan."

Taking to Instagram, the newly appointed RCA president penned, "With the collaborative efforts of all District Cricket Associations and individuals dedicated to reshaping cricket in Rajasthan, I am confident that we will indeed script a new narrative in the vibrant and promising future of Rajasthan Cricket."
