Will Maharaja clean out the trash? Joking about the Mysuru royal family after the BJP passed on

Karnataka MP Pratap Simha, who was dropped from the BJP's candidate list for the Mysuru-Kodagu constituency, appeared to make a veiled comment about the new candidate, Mysuru royal Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja. Simha suggested that Chamaraja would now have the responsibility of performing tasks typically associated with regular party leaders, such as responding to requests for assistance in "clearing garbage and debris."

Simha, who was embroiled in controversy last year for his involvement in issuing authorization passes to intruders during a breach of the Lok Sabha chambers, expressed his sentiments after being omitted from the BJP's candidate list. He stated that if Chamaraja was willing to perform tasks like welcoming leaders with bouquets, picking them up from airports, and touring them across events, then he was happy for him to take on those responsibilities.

Highlighting the symbolic significance of Chamaraja's decision to engage in public service, Simha emphasized that the royal scion's willingness to address the needs of the common people, including helping with mundane tasks like garbage clearance, was commendable.

While initially praising Chamaraja for his decision to serve as a citizen among citizens, Simha's tone seemed to shift slightly after the BJP announced the candidate list. Nevertheless, he stated that he had congratulated Chamaraja and intended to begin campaigning for the party in the coming days.
