Dushyant's journey in politics began at a young age, witnessing his great-grandfather Devi Lal's political campaigns. Over the years, he honed his skills and eventually won the Hisar Lok Sabha seat in 2014 at the age of 26, becoming the youngest MP at the time. Despite facing challenges within his family and party, Dushyant stood firm and established the JJP in 2018.
In the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, the JJP emerged as the third-largest party, securing 10 seats while the INLD faltered. This positioned Dushyant as a significant player in Haryana's political landscape. Subsequently, the BJP and JJP formed a coalition government, with Dushyant assuming the role of Deputy Chief Minister.
Dushyant's ambitions extended beyond Haryana, aiming to strengthen his party's presence in neighboring Rajasthan. However, the JJP faced setbacks in Rajasthan's elections, failing to secure any seats.
The recent rift between the BJP and the JJP reportedly stems from Dushyant's desire for a greater share of seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
