A lady judge in Uttar Pradesh gets a death threat; a case is filed

The Uttar Pradesh Police have initiated action after a woman judge reported receiving a threatening letter. This incident follows her earlier allegations of sexual harassment against a district judge. The judge suspects that the threat may be related to her previous complaint.

According to the woman judge, the sexual harassment case she filed remains unresolved with the Prayagraj High Court. She has expressed concerns that the threat letter could be connected to her pursuit of justice in the harassment case.

In her complaint to the police, the judge highlighted the need to investigate the authenticity of the sender's details on the envelope containing the threat letter. She urged authorities to review CCTV footage from the post office to identify the culprit.

Anoop Dubey, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kotwali Nagar, confirmed the registration of a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. He assured that legal action is underway, and efforts are being made to apprehend the perpetrator, including the examination of CCTV footage.
