Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his previous remarks regarding the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir following the revocation of Article 370 in 2019. Speaking at a public gathering during a roadshow held in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Shah referenced statements made by Gandhi regarding Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that the situation in the region was now stable, highlighting that there was currently no one daring enough to engage in violent acts like stone-throwing.
Shah recalled past predictions made by leaders such as Mehbooba Mufti and Rahul Gandhi about potential chaos and violence in Kashmir post the abrogation of Article 370. He pointed out that despite five years having passed since the event, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, such dire predictions had not materialized. Shah confidently stated that there was no longer any risk of violence in the region.
Furthermore, Shah expressed his conviction that the Congress party would suffer significant losses in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, asserting that the BJP was poised to secure victory in all 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan.
The roadshow in Udaipur, held in support of BJP candidate Mannalal Rawat, also saw the presence of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Rajasthan witnessed polling for 12 Lok Sabha seats in the initial phase of the elections, with the remaining 13 constituencies scheduled for polling on April 26. Results are expected to be announced on June 4.
In the 2019 elections, the BJP secured 24 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan, while the remaining seat was won by Hanuman Beniwal, leader of the Rashtriya Loktantra Party.
