After an explosion causes a fire in a Paris apartment building, three people die

An explosion followed by a fire at an eight-storey apartment building in Paris resulted in the tragic deaths of at least three individuals, as reported by a French newspaper on Sunday.

The exact cause of the explosion remains unknown at this time.

According to Le Parisien, the blast occurred before a fire erupted in the building situated in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, with the flames originating on the seventh floor.

In response to the emergency, numerous ambulances and firefighting vehicles swiftly arrived at the scene to commence rescue operations.

Deputy mayor of the 11th arrondissement, Luc Lebon, expressed bewilderment over the incident, noting that there was no gas supply in the building that could have triggered such an explosion.

Despite this, authorities have not discounted the possibility of a gas-related incident.

A public prosecutor confirmed to Le Parisien that an investigation has been launched into the incident, with officials from the capital’s 2nd judicial police district tasked with determining the cause of the explosion and subsequent fire.

Further updates and details regarding the incident are eagerly awaited as the investigation progresses.
