Amit Shah manipulated a video: three connected to the AAP, Congress detained

At least three individuals affiliated with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress have been apprehended in connection with a manipulated video featuring Union Home Minister Amit Shah advocating the elimination of reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC).

While two individuals were detained by the Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Department, another was arrested in Assam. Shah has attributed the dissemination of the fabricated video to the Congress, attributing it to the party's "frustration and disappointment."

The doctored video, depicting the Union Home Minister, gained traction on social media platforms. Numerous Congress officials shared the video online, alleging that the BJP intended to abolish reservation policies.

During a press briefing in Guwahati, the Union Home Minister dismissed the allegations, asserting that the BJP unequivocally supports reservations for SCs, STs, and OBCs and will always safeguard their interests.

He further condemned the Congress for resorting to misinformation tactics, stating that the party's attempts to garner public support through the dissemination of fake videos are deplorable and undermine the integrity of Indian politics.

In a separate development, the Mumbai police have initiated legal proceedings against the Maharashtra Youth Congress' social media account and 16 others for allegedly sharing the fabricated video. This action follows a complaint filed by Mumbai BJP member Pratik Karpe at the Bandra Kurla Complex cyber police station.
