Arvinder Lovely claims he left his position in Congress but was "shown" to have left the party

Arvinder Singh Lovely, who recently stepped down as the chief of the Congress's Delhi unit, expressed his disillusionment within the party, citing his inability to function effectively within the current framework. His resignation, although not sudden, was prompted by a sense of dissatisfaction that had been building up over time. He clarified that his resignation was from the post of Delhi Congress President, not from the party itself.

In an exclusive interaction with India Today TV, Lovely elaborated on his decision, emphasizing his inability to fulfill his responsibilities as Delhi Congress chief and address the concerns of party workers. He maintained that he had not criticized any party leader or strategy but simply found it challenging to work within the existing system. He suggested appointing someone else as Delhi Congress President while he continued to serve as a leader.

Lovely also expressed dismay at the leaking of his resignation letter to the media and the swift acceptance of his resignation by the Congress high command. He highlighted the irony of his letter being leaked before it reached its intended recipient and the subsequent decision being made within just two hours. He called for the party to introspect on these developments.

Despite speculation, Lovely clarified that his resignation was not linked to dissatisfaction over ticket distribution, as some had suggested. He reiterated that he had introduced the candidates just days before his resignation and emphasized that he had no intention of joining any other political party.

In his resignation letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Lovely had expressed concerns about the selection of Kanhaiya Kumar and Udit Raj as party candidates, describing them as unfamiliar faces to the Delhi Congress and its policies. However, he reiterated that his resignation was not driven by disagreements over ticket distribution.
