BJP's 'Kejri Corruption Kranti' jab comes as a court upholds Arvind Kejriwal's incarceration

The BJP has capitalized on the Delhi High Court's dismissal of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea against his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), using it to criticize the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and demand Kejriwal's resignation. The BJP argues that the movement that began with the India Against Corruption stir has now transformed into "Kejri Corruption Kranti."

Citing the observations made by the high court, BJP's national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi accused the AAP and Kejriwal of politicizing investigation and judicial processes. The court's decision not only rejected Kejriwal's petition but also stated that there was sufficient material for his arrest and that the trial court's remand order was well-reasoned.

Trivedi highlighted the court's assertion that the law applies equally to all individuals, emphasizing that courts are concerned with constitutional morality rather than political morality. He underscored the court's remarks indicating that Kejriwal was allegedly involved in the framing of the excise policy and the proceeds of the crime.

Trivedi emphasized that the Enforcement Directorate cannot be directed to conduct investigations based on an individual's convenience, asserting that there should be one law for all individuals, regardless of their positions.

The BJP spokesperson criticized Kejriwal's transformation from an activist during the India Against Corruption movement to a politician, accusing him of betraying his original principles. Trivedi described the situation as a significant downfall in Indian politics.

Furthermore, the BJP criticized parties forming the INDIA bloc for supporting Kejriwal and accusing the Modi government of misusing investigative agencies to weaken the opposition.

Delhi BJP unit president Virendra Sachdeva condemned Kejriwal, accusing him of bringing shame and betrayal to Delhi while allegedly engaging in corrupt activities.
