Case against a teacher in Pune for beating a student in class nine

In Pune, a teacher named Pooja Sunil Kedari is facing allegations of physically assaulting a Class 9 student, prompting the student's parents to demand her dismissal from her position. According to the parents, Kedari, who was serving as a substitute teacher, allegedly beat up their child during a classroom session. Despite the ordeal, the student did not disclose the incident to his parents initially, fearing potential repercussions such as receiving lower marks from the teacher in future exams.

However, the situation came to light after a video capturing the incident circulated widely on social media platforms. Subsequently, the student informed his parents about what had transpired. In response to the parents' complaint, a case of non-cognizable offense has been registered against Kedari at the Vishrambaug Police Station. The authorities are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.

Pune's Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sandip Gill, confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred approximately a month ago. The case has been registered under Section 323 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Additionally, the school where the incident took place has initiated an internal inquiry to probe the matter further.
