Chitradurga, Karnataka: A speeding bus overturns, leaving three people dead and thirty-three injured



Three individuals tragically lost their lives, and 33 others sustained injuries when a speeding bus overturned while navigating a curve on the road in Chitradurga, Karnataka, during the early hours of Sunday.

The victims have been identified as Jagdish, aged 45, and Ganapathi, aged 40, among others.

The bus involved was a private vehicle, transporting 36 passengers from Bengaluru to Gokarna, a renowned beach destination. The accident occurred near Hollalkere town around 4:30 am when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed.

Following the incident, the injured individuals were promptly transported to Chitradurga District and Hollalkere Taluka Hospitals, where they received medical treatment. Fortunately, all of them are reported to be in stable condition.

Upon receiving information about the accident, the police promptly responded to the scene and conducted rescue operations to assist the passengers.

A case has been registered under Section 304A (pertaining to the death of a person due to a rash or negligent act) of the Indian Penal Code, and authorities have initiated further investigation into the matter to ascertain the circumstances leading to the tragic accident.
