Congress is criticized by Pinarayi Vijayan for their "criminal silence" on the CAA

In a scathing rebuke aimed at the Congress, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan criticized the party's omission of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) from its electoral manifesto, 'Nyay Patra,' denouncing it as "criminal silence."

Expressing concern over the rising challenge posed by the extreme Hindutva politics of the Sangh Parivar, Vijayan questioned the seriousness with which the Congress manifesto addresses these pressing issues. He underscored the CAA's divisive nature and labeled it as a dangerous ploy to sow discord within the country. In stark contrast, he highlighted the CPI(M)'s commitment to terminating the CAA in its manifesto.

Vijayan lamented the Congress's failure to vocally oppose the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, both within and outside the Parliament, over the past five years. He asserted that voters have recognized the futility of supporting Congress based on their experiences.

This isn't the first time Vijayan has criticized the Congress regarding the contentious CAA. His government in Kerala had previously taken a proactive stance by challenging the legislation in the Supreme Court, making it the first state government to do so.

Vijayan reaffirmed the Left's steadfast resolve to thwart the BJP's communal politics in Kerala, vowing to prevent the saffron party from securing a single seat in the Lok Sabha elections. He expressed confidence that the BJP would face defeat in all 20 constituencies, failing even to secure the second position in any constituency.

As Kerala braces for the upcoming elections on April 26, Vijayan's statements reflect a determined stance against divisive politics and a commitment to upholding the state's secular ethos. The electorate's decision on polling day will determine the course of Kerala's political landscape, with the assurance of a vigilant Left standing guard against communal forces.
