During a massive BJP roadshow in Chennai, PM Modi declares, The city has won me over

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a mega roadshow in Chennai ahead of the April 19 Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu. Accompanied by BJP state president K Annamalai and BJP candidates for various segments, PM Modi led a well-attended procession in the city's T Nagar locality.

PM Modi expressed his appreciation for Chennai, stating "Chennai has won me over!" on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). He described the roadshow as a memorable experience and thanked the people for their blessings and support.

During the roadshow, PM Modi, adorned in traditional attire, stood atop a decorated car, waving at the enthusiastic crowds lining the streets. Supporters chanted slogans in his favor and displayed placards endorsing the BJP and its leader. PM Modi was also showered with flower petals by his supporters.

The roadshow, which lasted approximately 45 minutes and covered a distance of 2 km from Panagal Park to Teynampet, featured cultural performances, including a nadaswaram recital.

PM Modi is scheduled to address election rallies in Vellore and Mettupalayam on Wednesday in support of NDA candidates, including K Annamalai, Union Minister L Murugan, and Soumya Anbumani of the ally PMK.

The upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu will witness contests for 39 Lok Sabha seats, along with one seat in Puducherry. Despite having no representation in the outgoing House, the BJP remains optimistic about its electoral prospects in the southern state. In Tamil Nadu, the BJP leads a non-DMK, non-AIADMK alliance comprising the Pattali Makkal Katchi and Tamil Maanila Congress-Moopanar, led by former Union Minister GK Vasan.
