During a tri-service summit, the CDS General advocates for a "joint culture" across the armed forces

The 'Parivartan Chintan' convened in New Delhi on Monday served as a pivotal brainstorming session aimed at fostering innovative concepts, initiatives, and reforms to bolster the integration of the Indian armed forces' capabilities. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan emphasized the imperative of harmonizing the capabilities of each service through the establishment of structures that optimize the nation's efficiency and elevate its warfighting prowess and interoperability.

During the launch of the tri-service Conference, dubbed 'Parivartan Chintan', CDS Chauhan underscored the necessity of cultivating a joint culture within the armed forces. This culture, while preserving the distinctiveness of each service, seeks to distill the best practices of individual services, thereby engendering a novel approach to traditional concepts.

The 'Parivartan Chintan' was conceived as a platform for collaborative brainstorming and idea incubation, geared towards fostering fresh perspectives, initiatives, and reforms to advance the integration of the armed forces' capabilities. This integration is envisioned to lay the groundwork for the evolution towards joint structures, ensuring that the Indian armed forces are primed to meet future challenges.

The Tri-Service Conference witnessed the participation of key officials from various commands and institutions, including the Andaman and Nicobar Command, Strategic Forces Command, National Defence Academy, and Defence Services Staff College, among others. The deliberations, facilitated by the headquarters of the Integrated Defence Staff, brought together officers from all three services, fostering a diverse exchange of ideas and experiences aimed at driving forward the next generation of reforms encompassing modernization, procurement, training, adaptation, and collaboration, all while embracing emerging and innovative technologies.

Furthermore, discussions encompassed critical national strategic issues impacting both civil and military domains, underscoring the comprehensive approach towards national security.
