Enforcement Directorate raids Ranchi in relation to a land scam

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently conducted raids at four locations in Ranchi as part of an investigation into alleged land grabbing associated with a money laundering case. Among the premises searched were those linked to Antu Tirkey, the District President of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).

These raids were prompted by information provided by Mohammed Saddam Hussain, who was arrested on April 9 in connection with the same alleged land-grabbing case. Saddam, believed to be associated with former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, was remanded in custody for four days. He was already in judicial custody for his alleged involvement in forging documents and in the sale and purchase of the army and other lands.

The ED suspects Saddam played a significant role in the appropriation of 8.86 acres of land, potentially involving Soren himself. These developments underscore the ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities and land acquisitions, implicating individuals associated with the political landscape of Jharkhand.
