In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav exuded confidence in his party's prospects in the imminent Lok Sabha elections, particularly emphasizing the significance of the first phase of polling scheduled for April 19. Yadav remarked that the prevailing discontent among Rajputs and Kshatriyas would profoundly affect the BJP, foreshadowing the party's impending defeats right from the onset of the electoral process.
Addressing the upcoming polls in Uttar Pradesh, Yadav asserted that the electorate's response during the initial phase would pave the way for a resounding victory for the SP. He critiqued the BJP's rhetoric, alleging falsehoods and unfulfilled promises, and contended that the BJP's electoral fortunes would start dwindling from the outset. Yadav emphasized the prevailing sentiment in Uttar Pradesh, suggesting a decisive shift away from the BJP.
Regarding his party's electioneering efforts, Yadav highlighted the SP's strategic maneuvering across the state, aiming to consolidate support and provide a viable alternative to the BJP. He underscored the pivotal role of the Pichda, Dalit, and Alpasankhyak (PDA) coalition, expressing confidence that they would eclipse the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the BJP.
Yadav predicted a significant erosion of support for the NDA, particularly citing grievances over issues such as job losses and educational opportunities. He emphasized the BJP's purported loss of credibility among diverse communities, including Rajputs and Kshatriyas, underscoring the widening chasm between the electorate and the ruling alliance.
Expressing optimism about the SP's electoral prospects, Yadav singled out Kannauj as a stronghold where the party is poised for victory, signaling a broader trend favoring the SP in the broader electoral landscape.
