Hours after leaving the Congress, Gourav Vallabh joins the BJP and labels it directionless

Congress national spokesperson Gourav Vallabh dealt a significant blow to the party by joining the BJP, just hours after resigning from Congress, citing the party's perceived lack of direction.

In his address after joining the BJP, Vallabh emphasized his longstanding belief in the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and expressed disappointment over the Congress's rejection of an invitation related to the temple. He also criticized the party's response to questions raised about Sanatan Dharma.

Highlighting his reasons for leaving Congress, Vallabh mentioned his discomfort with the party's approach, particularly regarding issues such as the caste census and its stance towards wealth creators. He expressed his resignation from all positions and primary membership of the Congress party in a letter addressed to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge.

Vallabh, known for his expertise in economic matters, had previously handled Mallikarjun Kharge's Congress president campaign. Despite his efforts, he faced defeat in the Rajasthan assembly elections in 2023 and in the 2019 Jharkhand assembly polls.

His decision to switch sides to the BJP underscores the political dynamics ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha polls, signaling a loss for Congress and a gain for the BJP.
