If elected, Congress will carry out a wealth redistribution study: Gandhi Rahul

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has announced that if the party comes to power, it will conduct a comprehensive financial and institutional survey to analyze the distribution of wealth among the people in the country. This announcement was made during a public rally in Hyderabad, following the release of the Congress's manifesto.

Rahul Gandhi emphasized that this survey would complement the nationwide caste census promised by the party. The aim is to determine the representation of different communities, including Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and minorities, in various sectors.

Highlighting the need for equitable representation, Rahul Gandhi noted that despite comprising 90% of the population, these communities often lack adequate representation, particularly in employment opportunities. He cited the imbalance in the composition of administrative bodies, such as the scarcity of OBCs, Adivasis, and Dalits among IAS officers.

The Congress manifesto, released earlier, focuses on the "five pillars of justice" and underscores the party's commitment to addressing issues related to caste representation and social equity. The party aims to strengthen the representation of OBCs and other marginalized groups through measures like the caste census and other initiatives.

With Telangana set to vote in a single phase on May 13, and the results to be announced on June 4, Rahul Gandhi's announcement underscores the party's focus on social justice and inclusivity in its electoral agenda.
