In Assam, one person was hurt in a rhino attack, and another was shot by forest guards

On Saturday, two separate incidents involving rhinoceroses occurred near the Kaziranga National Park, resulting in injuries to individuals involved.

In the Bafala area, a man was attacked by a rhinoceros while he was on his morning walk. It is suspected that the rhino had strayed out of the national park. The man sustained serious injuries and was promptly admitted to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital for medical treatment.

In another incident, which took place in the Dergaon area of Golaghat district, forest guards opened fire at the Kayroni area to drive back a rhinoceros into the national park. Unfortunately, during this effort, one person sustained injuries. They were also taken to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital for medical attention.

These incidents underscore the challenges faced by both humans and wildlife in areas where human settlements intersect with natural habitats. Prompt medical attention and appropriate measures by authorities are crucial in such situations to ensure the safety of both people and animals.
