A suicide blast in Pakistan's Karachi on Friday resulted in the deaths of at least two individuals after targeting a vehicle carrying foreign nationals, as reported by broadcaster Geo News.
The attack occurred in Pakistan's Sindh province, with five Japanese nationals inside the vehicle at the time. Despite the attack, all five foreigners survived, while two terrorists, including the suicide bomber, were killed in the incident, according to the report.
Authorities stated that the terrorists, riding a motorcycle, targeted the van, with accompanying gunfire heard during the attack. At the crime scene, a bag containing grenades and a Kalashnikov rifle was discovered.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Azfar Mahesar confirmed the safety of the Japanese nationals, noting that they were en route from their residence in Zamzama, Clifton, to the Export Processing Zone. However, a private security guard accompanying them sustained injuries.
Police further disclosed the discovery of a suicide jacket and a grenade on the body of the deceased terrorist, with a bomb disposal team dispatched to the attack site for further investigation.
