In the Sharjah building fire, a freshly married Indian woman and sound engineer perished

A tragic fire erupted in a nine-storey residential tower housing 750 apartments in Sharjah's Al Nahda area on Thursday night, resulting in the loss of lives and injuries. The incident claimed the lives of five residents and left 44 others injured in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Among the victims were two Indian residents, whose identities have been confirmed by family friends and social workers, according to reports from the Khaleej Times.

One of the deceased, Michael Sathyadass, was a sound engineer from India who worked at DXB Live in Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC). His brother's social media tribute highlighted Sathyadass's crucial role behind the scenes at concerts featuring artists like Bruno Mars and AR Rahman.

The second Indian victim was a 29-year-old woman from Mumbai who had recently married in February. Tragically, the couple had just moved into the building in Al Nahda following their wedding.

The woman's husband, who survived the fire, is currently in critical condition at the hospital. Friends and family are praying for his recovery.

The Indian Consulate General has extended their support to the families of the deceased and the injured, with the families of the victims arriving in the UAE to manage the aftermath.

Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the fire, while social workers are coordinating arrangements for the deceased woman's burial in the UAE, as per necessary procedures.

DXB Live, the company where Michael Sathyadass worked, praised him as an employee of exceptional dedication and loyalty, expressing their condolences and offering support to his family during this difficult time.
