Investigation prior to assault, planning in the US: Salman Khan firing case timeline

The recent shooting incident outside the home of Bollywood actor Salman Khan in Mumbai has drawn significant attention and prompted a swift response from the Mumbai Police, who have made notable progress in their investigation.

According to sources, the attack was carefully planned by criminals residing in the US, with two unidentified individuals executing the operation on motorcycles.

Key findings from the police investigation include:

1. **Motorcycle Ownership**: The motorcycle allegedly used in the shooting was traced back to its owner, who stated that they had recently sold it to someone else. The police are investigating the details of the sale and whether any intermediaries were involved.

2. **Surveillance Before Shooting**: The accused conducted multiple reconnaissance missions around Salman Khan's residence in Bandra, carefully planning their approach and escape routes.

3. **Escape Strategy**: After the shooting, the assailants abandoned the motorcycle near a church and then took an autorickshaw to Bandra railway station. From there, they boarded a train and later switched to another vehicle. Their movements beyond Vakola are yet to be confirmed.

4. **Involvement of Criminals**: The attack is believed to be orchestrated by criminals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Anmol Bishnoi, brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the incident through a Facebook post with a Canadian IP address, likely masking the actual location in California, US, via a VPN.

5. **Timeline of the Incident**: The attack took place around 5 am on Sunday, with the assailants firing multiple rounds. They then attempted to mislead the police by inquiring about routes to Vasai Highway. Subsequently, they abandoned the motorcycle near a church, switched vehicles, and eventually boarded a train from Bandra station.

The police are actively investigating the case and are likely to delve deeper into the connections between the assailants, the gang involved, and any potential local contacts aiding in their escape.
