KTR serves legal notices on Congressmen for their disparaging comments

The political tension between Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao and certain Congress leaders escalated as KTR sent legal notices to Konda Surekha, Yennam Srinivas Reddy, and KK Mahender Reddy for allegedly making defamatory remarks against him. KTR accused them of falsely implicating him in unrelated matters, particularly referring to the phone tapping issue.

In response to these alleged defamatory statements, KTR demanded a public apology from the Congress leaders within a week. He warned that failure to issue an apology would result in defamation lawsuits being filed against them. KTR emphasized that baseless attacks on his character would not be tolerated.

The conflict between KTR and Congress leaders intensified after KTR dismissed Congress' claims of phone tapping in the state as exaggerated drama aimed at diverting attention from other issues. He suggested that any tapping that occurred might have been limited to a few individuals involved in criminal activities. In response, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy accused KTR of admitting to phone-tapping activities and called for accountability, alleging that the previous BRS government had tapped phones and filed cases against those who opposed them.

Overall, the exchange of accusations and legal actions underscores the heightened political rivalry and discord between BRS and Congress leaders in Telangana.
