"Natural alignment with BJP" is Kangana Ranaut's explanation for her decision to join the party

In an exclusive interview with Aaj Tak/India Today, Kangana Ranaut, the BJP candidate from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh, expressed her views on her political journey, her alignment with the BJP, and her admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Ranaut emphasized that she does not perceive herself as a typical politician but rather as a candidate committed to serving the people. She cited her natural alignment with the BJP her belief in the teachings of the Bhagavad Geeta and her admiration for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as factors influencing her political stance.

Regarding a now-deleted controversial post about her on Congress leader Supriya Shrinate's social media platform, Ranaut expressed her discomfort with the sexualization of women and stressed the need to avoid such behavior.

Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Ranaut suggested that they were pressured into politics by their mother, Sonia Gandhi. She criticized what she described as the dynastic nature of politics and argued that Rahul Gandhi should have been allowed to pursue other professions.

Ranaut highlighted the BJP's focus on campaigning based on development and promoting the policies of the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She described Modi as her source of inspiration and expressed admiration for leaders like Lal Bahadur Shastri and Indira Gandhi.

Ranaut concluded by stating her lack of respect for individuals involved in corruption and emphasized her admiration for those whom she deemed deserving of respect.
